Reveal the beautiful new you with a chemical peel from Clarity Skin medical spa of Draper, Utah. Our trained, professional estheticians evaluate your skin and formulate a chemical peel that addresses your needs, leaving you with the radiant skin tone and texture you want.
Clients often have different goals when they come to Clarity Skin seeking a chemical peel. The heat of a Utah summer and the dryness of our winters combine to wreak havoc on skin. Everyone wants beautiful skin, but each individual may face different obstacles.
With a chemical peel, a mild acid is applied to the surface of the skin, causing the top layers to peel off to reveal the smooth skin below. Clients opt to get chemical peels to treat a number of issues, including:

- Freckles
- Dark spots
- Sun damage
- Wrinkles
- Acne
- Dullness
- Rosacea
- Melasma (due to pregnancy, sun exposure, or another reason)
- Liver spots
- Mild scarring
Chemical peels can help mitigate all these conditions by removing layers of dull, damaged skin and stimulating your body to replace it with fresh, new layers. The process improves mild laxity, clarifies skin tone, and banishes superficial skin imperfections.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT OUR CHEMICAL PEEL SERVICES
Our clients in Salt Lake City, Draper, and throughout the Wasatch Front who want brighter, healthier-looking skin come to us for chemical peels. Chemical peels exfoliate the skin by gently removing the outer layers of the epidermis to reveal the newer layers of skin below.
What can you expect a chemical peel do for you?
- Soften fine lines and wrinkles
- Firm loose skin
- Even skin tone
- Brighten skin’s appearance
- Reduce hyperpigmentation
- Clean out pores
Every chemical peel varies based on the issue and the desired outcome. Some clients require only a superficial peel while others may need deeper penetration. Our master estheticians select the ingredients we use for each peel based on these and other factors.
Chemical peels are safe and effective because the alpha hydroxy acids we use are derived from natural ingredients such as sugar cane, lactic (milk), citric (citrus fruit), tartaric (grapes), malic (apples), and mandelic (bitter almonds). We also use a beta hydroxy acid, salicylic acid, which is derived from willow bark.
Depending on your sensitivity level and the depth of penetration, your skin may feel itchy, warm, or tingly when we apply the peel. Some clients report a mild stinging sensation. It takes a few minutes for the peel to penetrate your outer skin cells, then our master esthetician removes it. Your skin will begin to peel hours or days later, and the process will be complete in five to seven days. During this time, your body works to produce new, healthy skin cells. The result: your skin appears smoother and brighter.
To achieve optimal results, we recommend a series of three to six chemical peels, depending on the type of peel and your goals. If you’re looking to smooth out rough texture or brighten dull skin, you may be satisfied with one to three peels, two weeks apart.
But if you’re looking to target hyperpigmentation or conditions such as acne, you will most likely need six peels, two weeks apart. You can boost the effects of your chemical peels by using proper at-home skincare. Adding retinol to your regimen will continue your collagen synthesis (skin cell renewal). And sunscreen is a must! A chemical peel causes heightened sun sensitivity, and you need to protect your new skin cells.
